The second SCHOLARSHIP of
R50 000 was awarded at SAGES 2007 Sun City to Dr Gill Watermeyer for her project entitled:
 “The Protective Role of Previous Helminth Infection in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)”

 Gill is currently Head Medical Gastroenterology at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. She is an emerging leader in research in this country having previously being awarded prestigious scholarships.
